Use it for questions that change the project

• Nonconforming lots, structures, or uses.
• Unusual access, utilities, traffic, or site-planning constraints.
• Competing code interpretations that materially change yield, footprint, or cost.

Do not pay for a vague meeting

Submit a scaled concept, survey or base map, short project narrative, known studies, and numbered questions. For each question, explain the decision you need to make based on the answer.

Choose the right city service

The Virtual Permit Center is suited to short general questions and does not pre-review submitted plans. Predevelopment review provides ongoing, detailed feedback and written comments. A preapplication conference is a separate one-time service available only for specified projects.

Turn comments into design criteria

After the response, create a log showing each city comment, the design response, responsible consultant, and location in the future permit set. Written feedback is useful only if the full team carries it forward.
